Before handing off a batch of subtitles, check for malformed timestamps, overlapping cues, empty captions and text that may be too fast to read.

Subtitle Check runs locally in your browser. Extract the download, open index.html and select your SRT files. No uploads, subscription or AI credits.

• Review up to 50 UTF-8 SRT files per batch (5 MB each, 20 MB total).

Includes browser app, CLI, sample SRT and instructions. Interface and documentation are in English. No transcription, translation, automatic repairs or video preview. Defaults are review heuristics; overlaps can be intentional. No platform or accessibility certification is claimed.

Desktop browser with JavaScript required. Optional CLI requires Node.js. Personal and commercial subtitle work allowed; redistribution of the software is not included. Use comments for reproducible bug reports without private subtitle files.

Development and documentation were assisted by generative AI. The tool itself uses deterministic local rules and makes no AI calls.
